Technology distance education

This 39-semester hour graduate program is designed for individuals with interests in instructional design who desire to apply learning technologies to a content area or discipline in education, business, or industry. Individuals interested in pursuing this EDTC TTVN2 imagedegree need not have an undergraduate degree in education to pursue this graduate degree. The Educational Technology Program integrates three foundation areas: Learning Theory, Systems Theory, and Educational Media. Upon completion of the program, students will be proficient in the following skill areas:

* Design: Systematically identifying instructional needs to design of instructional materials for delivery by technology in classrooms and at distant sites.
* Development: Producing instructional materials to meet specific educational objectives involving components such as computer applications, graphics, photography, audio recording, video recording, and telecommunications.
* Research/Evaluation: Planning, defining, and implementing evaluation strategies for developing projects that apply educational technology principles.

Admission Requirements : Applicants must meet minimum entrance requirements set by the College of Education and Texas A&M University. Satisfying the minimum criteria qualifies an applicant for consideration, but it does not guarantee admission to the EDTC program. The program faculty will review each applicant and take into consideration GRE test scores, grade point average from the last 60 hours of the applicant's undergraduate degree, recommendations, and the goal statement provided by the application in the application packet.
