Specialist degree education distance learning

George Washington University's Education Specialist in Educational Leadership and Administration is a post-master's degree that will provide educational personnel in the elementary and secondary levels with added expertise in the field of administration. This online program will also provide educators with an opportunity to meet multi-state course-work requirements for academic licensing of principal, assistant principal, and/or instructional supervisory personnel.

Candidates of this online program will be qualified to take the School Leaders Licensure Assessment (SLLA) test for licensure upon completion of the program, and students must successfully complete an internship that requires them to conduct action research and produce a manuscript of publishable quality. Also, students must take a six-hour written comprehensive examination for successful completion of the program, and take three courses in the area of special education, one of which is mandatory while the remaining two are elective.

Students applying must send a statement of objectives/professional goals, resume and two recommendations, institution or the equivalent, official transcripts for each institution attended, acceptable GRE/MAT test scores and TOEFL/IELTS for foreign students.
